I saw this one The Jouska Blog and thought it was a fun tag, so I’m going to do it. I’m assuming the books must be books I own, so let’s see how it goes.
1. A Book with the letter ‘Z’ in the Title or Author’s name:
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This is a beautiful book that everyone should read. I have also reviewed it, so you can read more of my thoughts on it here if you want.
2. A Classic:
1984 by George Orwell. Is this considered a classic? I’d say it is. I own a lot of classics, but this is the one I’m currently reading, so I figured I’d use this one. As far as I can tell from what I’ve read, this is another one of those books that all book lovers should probably read.
3. The oldest book on your shelf:
Oh boy. I had a look through my shelves and the oldest I could find was a bind-up of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. It was printed in 1956. I don’t know if I have any books older than that, because I only looked at a few books, but yeah… I have a lot of old books. This isn’t what my edition looks like, but whatever, couldn’t find a picture of that and I can’t be bothered to take one.
4. A book with a key on the cover:
Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore. I just spent half an hour trying to find a book with a key on the cover and I totally forgot about Bitterblue. Just as I was beginning to despair. What’s the point of owning a gazillion books if you can’t even complete a scavenger hunt!
5. Something on your shelf that isn’t a book
This Legolas action figure.
6. A book with an animal on the cover:\
Dragons are animals, right?
7. A book with a girl on the cover:
Take your pick. Apparently, there are a lot of books with girls on the cover.
8. A non-YA book
Once again, take your pick.
9. A book with stars on the cover:
What do you mean it’s a compass? It’s a star. you need glasses.
10. A book with golden letters
By far the prettiest golden-lettered book I own.
I tag all the people to do this. In fact, I challenge you all to do it. See if you can find everything (even if you don’t want to make a post) and let me know in the comments.
