Ok, so this whole posting every single day thing is HARD. You may or may not know that I’ve decided I will post every single day for the month of May. Should have probably chosen a month when I don’t have exams to do this, but I started now and I’ll be damned if I don’t see it through. This was just a really long winded way for me to say I have another tag today because I couldn’t think of anything more original to do. So I stole another tag from Kristin. I’m pretty sure I stole my last tag from here too. So check her blog out.
Anyway, I’m gonna try to use books on my physical TBR in an attempt to motivate me to read them. But I may not have one for each letter.
A: American Gods by Neil Gaiman
I actually have so many books starting with A on my TBR. But I chose this one cause I actually started reading it and then I stopped, I don’t remember why, I was enjoying it. But I never continued and I want to finish it.
B: Black Prism by Brent Weeks
Another one that I started and never finish. I didn’t really like the MC, which is why I stopped, but I want to give this series another try because I wasn’t in the best headspace when I started it, so that may have contributed to my lack of enjoyment and everybody seems to love this series.
C: Cress by Marissa Meyer
Yet another one that I started and set aside. I kind of have an excuse for this one. I took it with me when I was travelling for archery. I went to a competition. So I put it in my archery bag and didn’t get to read much during the competition. But I don’t unpack my archery bag, because it just has my archery stuff in it. And I forgot I’d put it there. I forgot that I had it, actually. Which says something about the amount of books I own, but that’s another story.
D: The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken
Are you surprised? I started and haven’t finished this one was well. I don’t really have an excuse for this. I just wasn’t loving it. But I don’t want to DNF it because it’s not bad and I already read like more than half of it. But I just wasn’t loving it.
E: Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
I actually don’t own this one, but I didn’t have an E book on my owned TBR. But I’ve been wanting to pick this series up forever and I’m hoping to get to it soon.
F: The Four Loves by C. S. Lewis
Another one that I started and almost finished, but now quite. I don’t even know why. I just haven’t been in the mood for philosophical reading I guess.
G: The Gift by Alison Croggon
I’ve been eyeing this series for a while now and I spotted the first book in a thrift store and bought it.
H: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
One of my friends got it for me over a year ago and I still haven’t read it. So I need to get on with it.
I: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
The same friend got me this at the same time and I haven’t read it.
J: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
I only have an electronic copy of this, but this is a classic that I’ve been interested in reading for a long time, so I need to get to it.
K: Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas
It’s the finale! Why haven’t you read it Romana? Shame! SHAME! Just read it!
L: Looking for Alaska by John Green
Remember that friend who got me those other two books? Yeah… he got me this one as well. Have I read it? Nope. Do I want to? Yes! Then why haven’t you read it Romana??? WHy? I don’t know, ok. I just don’t know.
M: Mark of the Thief by Jenniver A. Nielsen
I loved her other series, The False Prince and I want to give this one a try.
N: Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee
This is a very complicated and confusing sci-fi. I started reading it and was like ?????????????? And I’m used to reading complicated and confusing SFF books. I do want to give this another try, because I hear that once you start understanding what’s going on, it’s pretty good.
O: Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I’m about a third through this book. I wan’t to finish this series already. I’m not enjoying this book as much as the other two, but I still want to finish it.
P: The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang
I didn’t have an owned P book that I wanted to share, so here’s one that I’m hoping to get to soon. I actually don’t know much about it, but I think it’s inspired by Chinese history and stuff and it sounds cool.
Q: Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
Another finale that I’ve yet to read.
R: Relativity: The Special and the General Theory by Albert Einstein
I started reading this because I really love physics and I wanna know more. But I’ve yet to finish it. It’s not exactly bedtime reading at least for me, so I do need to concentrate. Which means that it’s slow going. But I do want to read it.
S: Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis
If I read this and finish The Four Loves, I will have read every C. S. Lewis boo that I own. So I’m hoping to get to both of them this summer.
T: Turtles All the Way Down by John Green
Second John Green book on this list. I just haven’t been in the mood for contemporaries in over a year. And they’re just sitting there, waiting for me to want to read a contemporary.
U: Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner
Another letter without an owned book. But I’m interested in this series. It sounds cool.
V: Viper by Bex Hogan
I recently read one chapter of some of my TBR books and this is one of the ones I decided to keep.
W: What If? Serious Scientific Questions to Absurd Hypothetical Questions by Randall Munroe
I’m almost done with this. I think I have less than 100 pages left. So I’m hoping to finish it soon. But it’s one of those books that I’m never really actively reading. More like a chapter or two every now and again, just because of the nature of the book. I am however enjoying it a lot.
X: No luck 😦
Y: Y: The Last Man Vol 1 by Brian K. Vaughan
I don’t yet own this, but it’s probably going to be the next graphic novel series I read. I actually do have it on Kindle, but I don’t like reading graphic novels on Kindle.
